3 Full Bio (~250 words)

Sekou M. Doumbouya is a Technical Lead and Senior Staff Software Engineer at a hyperscale consumer platform. With over 20 years of experience, Sekou works where architecture meets execution across cloud networking, capacity, multi-region infrastructure, disaster recovery, and developer platforms. In his current role, he led a major network architecture transformation delivering multi-million dollar annual savings, shaped next-generation multi-account networking, and helped build disaster recovery capability that reduced a critical recovery path from 20 days to 8 hours at a fraction of vendor cost. He also created the capacity model and strategy used to de-risk IPv4 exhaustion and guide an IPv6 migration. Before Pinterest, Sekou served as Technical Lead – Data Platform SRE at Quip (Salesforce), where he improved system reliability by 15%. At Oracle, he was Principal Systems Engineer developing CI/CD pipelines and GitOps-based container deployments. Earlier roles include Senior Systems Engineer at Groupon, Senior Systems Administrator at LiveOps (where he received the Amsterdam Datacenter Creation Award), and Director of Network Operations at Telvue Corporation. Sekou builds open-source agentic developer infrastructure, writes about reliable AI-assisted engineering, mentors in the /dev/color community, and co-hosts the "AI with Friends" podcast. Sekou M. Doumbouya is not affiliated with Sekou Doumbouya, the professional basketball player.
